To RSVP, simply click on the blue email addresses
IMPORTANT REMINDER: If you RSVP for an activity and are unable to attend, please CALL your hostess. Emails that day will probably be missed. It is embarrassing for her, and inconvenient to the other guests to be waiting in vain for your arrival. Emergencies do come up, but common courtesy should always prevail.
INTERNATIONAL: Monday, March 5th,10:10 Departure— Sri Venkateswara Hindu Temple Tour
7615 Metro Blvd., Edina—-7078 Amundson Ave. (70th/Cahill) 952-946-0009
Join us for the 10:30AM tour given by Priest Vamsi, followed by lunch nearby at Biryani, a Bangladeshi Indian restaurant. Be prepared to leave a small donation if we are asked. Those who practice Hinduism maintain small worship areas at home and pray there daily, but temples get crowded during festivals and other events. The Sri Venkateswara Temple began about two years ago in a small leased space in Golden Valley which accommodated it’s 100 devotees—not the current membership of 1000. In 2010 they purchased the former Spa Bella Casa salon for $1.6 million and spent about $500,000 renovating it.
RSVP by Sunday, March 4th to Sally@EdinaNewcomers.org. A carpool will meet at Sally’s at 10:10AM so we arrive at the same time.
