Brrrrr! It’s cold out there! In this winter full of surprises, who knows what March will bring—let’s hope it’s spring! While you’re waiting—come out and join us for some fun this month.
If you’re looking for more evening activity, we’ve added something new to our calendar! Meet us in the beautiful Atrium/Le Bar at L’Hotel Sofitel for our first Wine and Cheese gathering.
Enjoy a free Schubert concert in St. Paul’s historic Landmark Center with Wanderers.
There’s always something great coming out of the of oven at Ann’s. Meet us there of this month’s Coffee.
I hear the burgers are especially good at Oak City. Try one on Ladies Night Out—if you still have room after Happy Hour.

Don’t miss the free Teppanyaki “floor show” at Benihaha on International Night. You can probably skip dinner after this month’s Luncheon at the Doubletree. Their huge lunch buffet is really a bargain, too! You’ve still got plenty of time to enjoy The Book Thief before joining our Bookclub discussion at Carol’s home.

See you there!

BOOKCLUB––Tuesday, March 31st, 7:00PM—at the home of a member
The Book Thief’s uniquely constructed story is told by Death, who is trying to make sense of the horrors of WWII. It relates the tale of Liesel – a young German girl whose book-stealing and story-telling talents help sustain her family, neighbors, and the Jewish man they are hiding. It sounds like a very sad story, but the story of Leisel is actually heart-warming and wonderful example of rising above some dire circumstances and finding joy in simple pleasures.
RSVP by Saturday, March 28th to Sally@EdinaNewcomers.org
Directions: Hwy.100 NORTH to Cedar Lake Rd. exit. Keep bearing right as road curves around under 100. At the stoplight, turn LEFT (west) onto Cedar Lake Road. Continue west through Louisianna light, watch carefully–there is a stoplight at Nevada and then LEFT at Oregon which comes up quickly. Or, #169 NORTH to Cedar Lake Road. Turn right, go approx 2 miles east, turn right onto Oregon.
